Home for Spinal Cord Injured Patient Mian Rafi, a SCIPPER-Hashoo Foundation Project Add Video

Mian Rafiq was 16 years old in 2005, when he became paralyzed below the waist during the earthquake in Pakistan. Ms. Athena Desilva in Los Angeles, CA, decided to help him. She sent him monthly donations, through SCIPPER and Hashoo Foundation, which helped him get food and catheters. She also raised funds and bought him a buffalo, which provides milk for his family and also supplements his income. With the help of Hashoo Foundation, he also started to receive home tutoring, which is still continuing. In 2010, Dr. Abdullah Hoodbhoy and his colleagues, raised funds and a home for him with a ramp was built.
